Frequently Asked Questions

What types of commissions do you do?

I am doing art in the same style as the originals you see in the store. I’ll draw the subject you request on a map of your choosing. But I’m also open to other requests, so if you’ve got an idea feel free to ask me about it.

What is the price for a commission?

The price of a commission depends on the size and complexity of the artwork. Once you select a map and we agree on the subject I can provide a final quote. On average, my prices land about here:

Tiny (<200 sq in): ~$150

Small (200-400 sq in): ~$200

Medium (400-600 sq in): ~$250

Large (600-800 sq in): ~$300

Extra Large (800-1000 sq in): ~$350

Gigantic (>1000 sq in): ~$400

Framing and shipping costs are additional.

How long will it take you to make my commission?

My availability varies wildly from month to month. My average turn around is 2 to 4 weeks. If your commission is time sensitive, please let me know and I’ll provide a firm commitment date.

Can you draw [my favorite person/pet/place]?

Let me know what you are thinking, and I’ll tell you if I can do it. If you have a reference image that you can provide, that is helpful.

What maps do you have available?

Email me and I can send you my current inventory.

Almost all of these old maps have holes along fold lines, rips along creases, sun damage, discoloration in places, and sometimes marks from the previous owner that did not have the luxury of google maps. I think the used aspect is part of the charm, but I have to put that out there just in case that is a deal breaker.

Can you do this on a map of [my favorite place]?

Email me and I can send you my current inventory to see if anything jumps out to you. If you don't connect with any of these, I thrift for maps CONSTANTLY. Let me know what you are looking for and I'll keep an eye open for it. You are also welcome to send me a map if you already have it in your possession.

Can you frame it?

ABSOLUTELY. I love making frames from recycled wood and I love thrifting for frames. Although I do carry some inventory for my art markets, framing generally requires additional time. And additional cost, of course.
